Goldman Sachs to Award Executives More Than $500 Million in Special Bonuses

US investment bank Goldman Sachs is preparing to award approximately 20 senior executives special stock-based compensation worth more than $500 million at current market prices.
According to Faros, citing Bloomberg, a final decision on the payouts is expected by the end of October.
The largest award will go to Chief Executive Officer David Solomon, whose special bonus is expected to exceed $100 million. Other recipients include President John Waldron and the heads of the bank's major business divisions.
The special compensation program was established in 2021, with payouts tied to Goldman Sachs' stock performance and its results relative to six major competitors.
Over the past five years, Goldman Sachs shares have delivered a total return of approximately 150%, including reinvested dividends.
The bank outperformed most of its peers. Only Bank of New York Mellon posted a higher return, with its shares generating a 174% total return over the same period.
