Who we are

Faros publishes market news and email summaries. Contact: office@faros.az.

What we collect

Email subscription: your name, email address, chosen sections and language, and when you confirmed or unsubscribed.

Reader account: your email address and display name (from the sign-up form or, if you use it, your Google profile name). Passwords are handled by Amazon Cognito; we never see them.

Comments: the text you post, the news item, and the time.

Contact form: your name, email, optional phone number, and message.

Technical data: your IP address is recorded briefly to limit spam and abuse of our forms.

How we use it

To send the summaries you asked for, show your comments, answer your messages, and keep the site free of spam. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Services we use

Amazon Web Services (Frankfurt, Germany) hosts the site and database, sends email (Amazon SES), and manages sign-in (Amazon Cognito). Cloudflare Turnstile checks that form submissions come from a person. Google is used only if you choose "Continue with Google".

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect sign-in against forgery. Your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your choices

Every summary email has a link to change your preferences or unsubscribe. To see, correct, or delete your data, including your account and comments, email office@faros.az.
